Dr. Kristie Peggins
Kristie Peggins is a certified family and board certified adult-gerontology nurse practitioner who works with Baptist College of Health Sciences. She originally attended Baptist College of Health Sciences in Memphis, TN, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She worked many areas of nursing which included intensive care, cardiovascular intensive care, cardiac step-down, and medical surgical. She has even traveled to several states, California, Nevada, and Texas, working as a registered nurse. While working in the cardiovascular intensive care unit, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing with a subspecialty in Family at University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Kristie is a certified family nurse practitioner in Tennessee, Mississippi, and California. She worked primarily as a hospitalist nurse practitioner in Tennessee. While working full time with a hospitalist at Baptist Memphis, she returned to University of Tennessee Health Science Center to complete her Doctorate of Nursing Practice with a subspecialty in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care. She graduated with honors and received the Doctor Practice of Nursing Leadership Award. She is currently teaching in the doctoral program at Baptist College of Health Sciences and is still involved with the care of patients of a hospitalist group. Kristie is an active member of several professional organizations including American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Greater Memphis Area Advanced Practice Nurses, Mississippi Association of Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and Chi Eta Phi Nursing Sorority Incorporated. Kristie and her husband Charlie Peggins reside in Tennessee. She enjoys spending time with her husband, shopping, and vacationing to San Diego.
